As a devoted coffee enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for unique and memorable coffee experiences.

And when I stumbled upon Central Perk Coffee Company, a brand that brings the nostalgia of the beloved TV show Friends into every cup, it immediately went to my TBD list (to be drunk list, lol).
As I dug deeper into the company, I discovered that renowned chef and coffee aficionado Tom Colicchio has played a pivotal role in the company as both an investor and curator assisting in perfecting the coffee blends.
For those that don’t know, Colicchio is a world-renowned chef and the head judge on the popular show, Top Chef (which also happens to be a favorite TV show of mine!).
Colicchio’s involvement put this company over the top for me, and I knew I was in for a treat with regard to quality, taste, and experience.
From Central Perk Coffee Company I ordered the following:
- The Variety Pack – Whole Bean option which includes
- How You Doin’?
- Pivot Blend
- We Were On A “Coffee” Break
- Friendsgiving Pumpkin Spice – Ground
One of my favorite things about my order was how it arrived. I often say it’s the little things when it comes to orders, but it really is.
I loved the customized box and the way the coffee was packaged. It felt special and I was so excited to open it up!
Of the varieties I ordered, I was most excited about the Pivot Blend mainly because of the name.
This blend is a medium-dark roast with a deep, full-bodied flavor. Tasting notes include chocolate and bright citrus and herbs.
The blend delivers a robust yet balanced cup that wakes up your senses with its vibrant and complex profile. Whether you’re reminiscing about Ross’s infamous “PIVOT!” moment or simply enjoying a cup, this blend brings a smile to your face.
And, the Pivot Blend was my personal favorite from the bunch. I loved the smell, taste, and mouth feel of this coffee blend. It’s also Rainforest Alliance Certified™.
The How You Doin’? medium roast from Central Perk Coffee is a perfect balance of smooth and rich flavors.
An artisan balance of Colombian and Brazilian Arabicas, this roast is your quintessential medium coffee. It features subtle chocolates, soft honey, and fragrant blackberries with a soothing finish. With its medium body and smooth acidity, it’s a versatile choice for any time of day.
I found this blend enjoyable and I loved how spirited the coffee tasted. It was bright and sophisticated and a delicious cup in the morning.
Next up, we have the We Were On A “Coffee” Break dark roast. A bold craft blend of Colombian and Brazilian Arabicas it is dark roasted to unveil a complex and fearless full body.
Of all the varieties I tried, this was my least favorite in terms of smell and taste when tried it my preferred way: black. The richness was overwhelming for my palate.
However, adding milk significantly improved the flavor, transforming it into a rich and enjoyable cup. I found that this blend shines when used in lattes and other milk-based coffee drinks too.
So if you like iced lattes, but don’t have an espresso machine, this dark roast may be the perfect blend for you.
Last up, I tried Central Perk Coffee’s Friendsgiving Pumpkin Spice blend.
Combining the comforting flavors of pumpkin pie with medium roast coffee, it features enticing notes of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg.
This one packs a punch in terms of the spice, which I enjoy in a pumpkin coffee.
It’s only available in ground coffee, so no whole-bean option. But it would make a great seasonal blend for the fall/winter.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by Central Perk Coffee Company. Their offerings are not just delightful but also bring a sense of nostalgia and connection to a beloved TV show.
